Day 1: Welcome to HAH airport
- Pick up at the airport or hotel.
- Transfer to the hotel Golden Tulip* for check-in.
Day 2: Iconi and Legends of the North.
- Visit the city of Iconi, the seat of the sultanate of Bambao. Leaving Iconi, you will cross the central part of Grande Comore, passing by the plateau of Diboini in the north. See geographic features created after many years of volcanic action, including Dragon’s Back, Salt Lake, Miraculous Mosque, and Prophet’s Hole. Lunch in the shade of a baobab tree at Trou du Prophete, swim in the ocean at Maloudja Beach, and return to the hotel at 5:00 p.m.
Day 3: Karthala Expedition
- Enjoy an incredible hike to the top of Mount Karthala, the active volcano that towers over the island. Visit the caldera, enjoy a picnic lunch, and return to the hotel at 5:00 PM.
Day 4: Moroni: Medina, local markets, and departure
- Take a walking tour of the old stone town of Moroni and its architecture. Spend some time in the local markets, admiring local silversmiths, tropical spices, and freshly caught seafood. Enjoy lunch at a downtown restaurant, then transfer to the airport for an afternoon departure.
